Releasing a book is hard. Really, really hard. As in, most people think that Indie authors just upload a word document and hit publish on Amazon. Um, no. The sad part is, I don’t think I’ve even hit the tip of the iceberg. I’m trying not to panic though, because I really don’t want to end up like the Titanic, and sink on my maiden voyage through the vast sea of book publishing.
Equilibrium is almost finished. SO CLOSE. SO CLOSE THAT I CAN ALMOST TASTE IT, BUT NOT REALLY BECAUSE I DON’T KNOW WHAT THAT’S LIKE TO ACTUALLY FINISH A BOOK. Because all of my books are SO CLOSE. Then, once it’s finished, it needs to be edited heavily by myself, a few beta readers, and then a professional editor. (And as they are reading it, I try not to lose my sanity and bite all of my nails off.)
I’m pretty sure I know who I would like to do my cover, since I’m obsessed with his work, so that one isn’t as stressful.
Then, once everything is all edited and I have a cover and a blurb and an actual publish-able manuscript, I need to contact blogs for cover reveals, and tours once it releases.
Have I forgotten anything?
Anyway, if you know anyone who does book reviews and/or blog tours, please let me know! I’m also in the market for a great editor as well.
Wish me luck!
